PRIMAL FEAR's RALF SCHEEPERS Lands His Voice To 'Tiny Barbarian' Animation Series

PRIMAL FEAR frontman Ralf Scheepers sang the theme song for the "Tiny Barbarian" witty animation series created by a group of German film students. Their school, the film academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, is one of the most renowned film schools in the world, regularly winning awards at the Student Academy Awards.

The animator and director Felix Zehender, 25, had the idea to create a funny and somewhat trashy animation series with a miniature barbarian.

"'Tiny Barbarian' was inspired by classical fantasy art such as Frank Frazetta's or Heavy Metal covers from the '70s and '80s. It's the story of a brave little warrior who believes he is some Arnold Schwarzenegger/Conan-like badass," Felix explains. "Unfortunately, in reality he is just a few inches tall and not a great fighter either."

Scheepers says: "I really liked the idea and the concept behind 'Tiny Barbarian'. So when I was requested to record some short vocal lines, I immediately switched on my microphone and did it!"

"Tiny Barbarian" consists of three clips which can be found on the "Tiny Barbarian" YouTube channel.

Marius Kirsten is the creator behind the "Tiny Barbarian" theme song. The 27-year-old film musician explains: "Writing the music for 'Tiny Barbarian' was a real pleasure. I loved Felix's concept and the early drawings he showed me in the beginning.

"The opportunities to use metal music in context with movies or animation are rare, so I really enjoyed writing the themes."

Felix continues: "We were more than happy when Ralf Scheepers agreed to sing the theme song, since his music and style perfectly transports the heroic feelings of our barbarian."

Kirsten agrees: "With Ralf singing the lines in the end, the theme song has become a really cool little piece of music!"
